How ignorant was the helpdesk guy!

Customer: I have an Ipod that I bought about 18 months ago and the battery is dead on it...

Helpdesk guy: What? The battery's dead on the IPod?....How old is it?

18 months is a good life span for rechargable batteries.

I would think if this was a widespread problem you would be

hearing ALOT more about it.

I have a MP3 cd changer in my car, you cant tell the difference between

a normal cd and the mp3 disks, if you can you should sell your ears to

science or something.

I've been into MP3s for several years. You can train your brain to pick up on the MPEG artifacts present in MP3 audio.

ive been into music for years, been into home theatre and car audio

as well.

I can see a track that was encoded crappy, or one that was downloaded, but

a MP3 in 196kbs is pretty damm clean.

i cant believe the battery isnt replacable. it is probably just soldered on. if it were truely irreplacable, it would have to be built into the pcb or somthing.

i bet you can unsolder the battery and solder in a new one for a couple bucks.

Apple has a battery replacement program for the iPod when the rechargable battery does die.

the iPod is also the only player that supports Dolby's AAC codec, which is pretty damn awesome. twice the sound quality at half the file size.

I'm a fan :-)
