BTW - I am really biased too. I am very partial to South Florida. I am actually at the Northern boorder of South Florida.

There is a BIG, HUGE difference from Orlando to Miami. Or Tallahassee or Jaxcksonville to West Palm Beach. When you hit West Palm on South it is a whole lot warmer, more tropical, more carribean as far as weather goes.

Its also more hispanic and hatian. Which = more diverse culture. North Florida is more redneck South Florida is more of a mixing pot. Orlando is like that too big mixing pot.

The Latin culture is awesome I love the latin flare of Miami Ft. Lauderdsale areas. The clubs are 10X better down there. Moreso that West Palm Beach which is very white bread.

Nicest place, well. Anywhere out in the middle of nowhere away from civilation sounds good to me. I imagine i'd enjoy the weather in the southern part of Oklahoma better than Tulsa. I'm use to a little hotter weather and milder winters than what i've experienced here this past year. I really miss the coast of North Carolina.

Yeah, north florida is like what people think of when you mention "the South." we like to say that The South ends at about Orlando, anything below that is "north cuba/south new york."

I live on the coast, 6miles from the beach. I like where I live, but if I had the chance I would leave. I only want to move south though. Call me a bitch but North Carolina is too damn cold in the winter. We get maybe 2 inches of snow a year here but I hate any type of cold. I need a place where it doesnt get Colder then 60degrees at its coldest time. If I ever have the chance to move to Florida I'm jumping on it. I missed out 3 years ago when I had that chance. My aunt works at NASA and she offered me an intership. Of course being dumb and right out of highschool I didnt take it X forever. I won't make that mistake again.

The area I am in has cheap housing and your a 45 minute drive from West Palm Beach where the economy is strong and cost of living is high = good pay + small commute and your sitting pretty.
Sounds like Orange County (where I live),...but years ago.

It's still 50 min. from NYC ($$$), but since everyone loves the idea of living in the country, with beautiful mountains/rivers/lakes/streams but have City pay...its becoming expensive and crowded here!

Answer? More are moving a bit more north/west.

As for the answer to this post: I find it very hard to find one. NY Rox in every which way except the winter. I have been south (but not west) but as far as having "Extremes" the only Extreme NY has is beautiful locations. Its not just beach, or just flat land, its a bit of everything....but that means winter too (DOH!).

I love New England living though (Colonial houses, farms, the whole 9 yards).

I just came back from Florida on Sunday and I loved it. I was at a Bachelor party, so even though I was drunk most of the time down there. I do remember the great weather and beatiful houses. My wife and I are looking to buy a house down there within a year. We are not sure where to move to, which makes it difficult. I'm thinking maybe Vero Beach,or West Palm.
