I thought i knew FC's

Well i met a fellow rotary head here in NYC, i saw his FC and something was odd, his antifreeze resovoir wasnt in the same location as every other FC i have ever seen. He has a 86 base RX-7.



He also has the wierdest sunroof ever, it looks like someone made it, doesnt look stock.

Is it becuase it was one of the first FC's out there?

Some of the early 2nd gens came with that coolant overflow bottle. Its not a big secret. just not very common. I had that one on my GTU for a long time. And yes, that sunroof looks aftermarket.

to be honest, in all my readings of FCs, i never read or seen a pic of an overflow bottle located there, it shocked me, i felt so CRUNCHY

I've only seen 1 FC in person with the overflow there. This was only about 2 months ago.

My engine bay. I have the side-located reservoir, but my overflow tube comes from the top of my radiator, not by the cap on the neck.

86 Bases were the only ones w/out sunroofs. All others had them.

89-90 GTUs models did not have a sunroof, and I had an 89 GTU that did not have a sunroof.
