I bet you get on the ship and head straight for the bottom deck. You probably stay there for the full 3-4 days of the cruise, I would imagine you run around yelling "Fire Missle bay 1!! or DIVE DIVE DIVE!!" and stuff like that.

Admit it!

You miss being on the Nuke Subs and this is your way of reliving it.

You are right, I do miss being on a Submarine. The Engine Room was my own personal EMPIRE!!!

Ahh for the days of:

"Suck 2, roll 4, filling potable"

Translation:

You are relieving the watch, The previous watchstander has told you in one sentence, that::

You do not need to make a pre-watch tour of the engineroom, Everything is fine. You have both sides of the engine roomin running normal. You have full vacuum in both main condensers, you have 2 Ships Service Turbine Generators (SSTG's) running and producing e;lectricity, 2 main Turbines driving the reduction gears, all Lube oil and Auxiliary seawater systems are lined up corectly. The 8000 Gallon Per Day Evaporator is running and filling the potable water tanks so I can go take a shower." Have a nice day.

Life was simpler when I ran the power plant on a nuclear Submmarine

WOW !!!you nukes got a good turnover when you came on watch I was a boiler tech on CV 66 & CV 67 and about all we said was either "I had it you got it"or "Fires burnin' screws turnin' "

I'm still a boiler operator and get more info from the log than anything else(they even log in a lot of BS like sweeping the floor)
