I feel your pain! In the diagnosis of my fuel problems I droped the tank FOUR times! It ******' SUCKS.
On another note, I have developed a rather large *clunk* in the front end, whenever I hit a small crack or bump in the road. Longer sweeping bumps did not cause the sound. After two weeks of searching, tonight I was laying under there and noticed that when I rocked the wheel on the passenger side, the driver's side axle would deflect up and down at the differential. So I shoved a pry bar in there and sure enough, the axle was moving vertically at the diff! So I suppose it's time to learn how to rebuild a differential. ****** rad.

I'd hit the junk yard and get a used one instead of rebuilding it. I rebuilt the rear end in my chevy truck last summer and it's not worth it. PITA for the average Joe that doesn't own a press to take bearings off and put new ones on plus it's time consuming as hell. If I could do it over again I would have bought a used one for 90 bucks instead of buying all new bearings for $150.
