I want to hylomar my coolant seals tonight and assemble in the morning. Can I do this??? Should I wait and assemble all in one day.



The directions say to torque immediatly BUT this could be a selling feature rather than a warning as in:



You can torque immediatly and no cure time needed

vs

You better torque within this time frame or else the hylomar will cure too hard

It dosent harden. Its a dressing, not a sealant like RTV.

Hylomar......It doesn't harden, period. Why not just do everything all at once instead of doing your assembly in peices.

 

Time constraints. That's why. Full time job, part time job, Wife and 4 kids. desn't leave much time for my personal hobbies. Seems like its well after 8pm before I get some time away to work on the Rex.

 

In that case, it should not be a problem.

 

I spoke with tech support at Permatex. The Hylomar stays tacky well over one night. Should you decide to use hylomar one night and then assemble the next day/night There sould be no problems. Just cover the area with Hylomar to keep dust off of it.

Then he would be fucked. I won't use vaseline on my seals, not since I discovered hylomar. I am sure others will agree.
