I don't see the point of it, it makes it more complicated and the gains don't seem worth it.

 

I remember reading on the Rolls stacked rotary disel. Yanmar of Japan was working with it.



You also have the SCORE engine that John Deere was using, now Pegasus owns it.



Many many years ago in either Car and Driver or Popular Mechanics there was an artical called

"Taking the Wobble out of Wankle" and it concerend a new style of rotary. Wish I could find it.
