...only go a bit at a time and pull out often. Tap it by hand.

the oil also helps clear chips out of the tap. if you are tapping on a cnc machine, or an upright drill or something where the machine does the cutting, if you have to pull it out, remember to start the tap by hand before continuing on with the machine.

oil!

its only a shift ****, its pretty hard to mess up, put it in a vice with some rubber jaws, dont go nuts on the vice, just snug it up, the **** should already be drilled so all you are doing is making a larger hole, then tap by hand, check it on the car to see when the engraving lines up, if you got no engraving then its even easier.

Yeah, I called my dad and asked his advice, and he's like "just drill it and tap it." So I obtained a vice, wrapped the **** in a towl and clamped it in. The drilling went surprisingly well (that was my fear, not being able to do anything straight), but then I couldn't find my tap holder thingy, so quit till tomorrow.

In the mean time I made it so my headlight could close without hitting anything, hooked up the connector arm and plugged it in. ahhh, having 2 headlights is so nice!
