my taste hasnt really changed, its gotten broader. i'll listen to anything if its got that energy to it, like elvis's blue suede shoes, some of the big band stuff. basically if it sounds like a real band playing in a room i'm digging it. i HATE fake music though, like midi stuff, it sounds terrible.

My taste has always been solid.

Iron maiden owns.

metallica (used to) own. I saw em in concert and they rocked the old stuff. It was cool.

I will listen to Vai and satch for kicks, they have some sick songs.

If you want some crazy neo-classical speed metal (the most amazing guitarists...ever, ingue malmsteem (sp?) kicks ***!) download some stratovarious. they rule...

Judas preist is pretty good.

I also listen to good tasteful techno and trance. I go in and out with that.

Stevie Ray Vaughn rocks.

Van Halen is kinda poppy (at the time...was it?) but i still like it.

Progressive metal kicks *** too.

Then of course the classics like zep, hendrix, the yardbirds, cream, ect..

There are very little new bands that excite me. I do like codheed and cambra though. They have some cool progressive stuff goin on.

So basically, i like metal, blues, speed metal, the good old **** and yeah...

I used to hate rap as a kid and listened to country (eek, I know) all the time.

Now I'm a basshead, and when I'm in my car that's all I listen to.

When I'm at school, my comp's music player is set to randomize my 5000+ songs so I get a bit of everything: rap, blues, rock, techno, industrial, trance, etc.

Since we're getting deeper into this. I hate techno, used to love it when I was younger. Techno BTW is nothing like Trance and Dance. Dance is mostly comical and very vocaly easy to do. Techno is very abstract trying to place things together but not succeeding.

Trance has many forms and the most violent (if you wanna call it that) of it is Progressive Underground usually just called Progressive. It's music that there to make a statement and envoke a feeling of crazyness and overpowering might. Works great when you're depressed or very happy LOL.

Then you have Melodic Trance very layed back but sometimes nice vocals thrown in. My favorite of all of them is Hard Trance, a mix between Progressive, Melodic, Industrial. Very flowy, very bassy, and just inspireing music.

Some great examples of it are:

Da Hool - Meet Her @ the Love Parade 2001

Darude - Sandstorm

Dirt Devils - the Drill (Evacuation Mix)

just to name the great ones.

Then I listen to rap. 2Pac, Biggy, DMX, Project Pat, 3 6 Mafia, Ludacris, Nas, Jay-Z, Eminem, mostly West Coast stuff.

Oh yeah, gott represent the locals that made it. Twista, Kanye West, R.Kelly (R&B I know, but still), and Whiteboy who is coming out with an album in a few months.

ALL new rock music sucks, it has no point, no meaning. we are in the era of the one hit wonders more than ever. Pop and club music has allways been trash. OMG I remember my friends were so into club music. I still have all the words to "Maria" by TKA stuck in my head!

When I was younger 16-20 I basically listened to 2 things, the 2 best in their field, true innovators.

<span style='font-size:21pt;line-height:100%'>NWA</span>

<span style='font-size:21pt;line-height:100%'>SLAYER</span>

In the 1975, Pink Floyd, Bad Co., Led Zeppelin, and the Rolling Stones played the LSU Arena. What a year.

I saw Kid Rock 2 years ago and it was a great show. I think the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queen, Beck, and Mogwai have talent. Virtually all the hip-hop and rappers suck a lot of *** as do the disco set and most of the melodramatic 80's glam-bands - so many OHWs. I wish Britney, Madonna, and Jessica Simpson would go away and stay away. Michael Jackson, Boy George, George Michael, Hammer, et..al can **** one another easily enough, and Al Gore is a puzzy (how'd that get in there?)!

Most of the music today bores the hell outta me. Long live Kazaa.
