I remember seeing my first RX-7 when I was like, 8. Of course, I didnt have any idea what it was, or care for that matter, but still.....I was young(er). It was my uncle's car, till he let some girl drive it. Tore the oil pan off @ aboot 80mph (hit a car tire/wheel in the middle of the highway). My other uncle 'fixed' it (certified Honda tech. Honda. Not Mazda.) and 'loaned' it to my grandmother. She gave me a ride in it one day, and I almost cried. I'm surprised the tranny and flywheel assembly are still in ok shape, she grrrrrrrrrrrrrround it every time she shifted, and it always bucked real hard.

I decided I had to save it, so we swapped cars for a week. Fortunately/unfortunately we never swapped back, b/c I was rear-ended before time was up. Totaled the car, but it was still driveable, so we bought it from the insurance company and I drove it around for a while. It started having problems, and my dad was always complaining about it, so I decided to learn about the engine. That was all last august. I'm almost finished with my first motor swap (rotary to rotary, I'm not going boinger on y'all).

Wow, long post. If anyone is curious why I dont post much, its because my questions have probably already been asked, and b/c I cant post anything....uh, whats that word? short? yeah....

My brothers freind had a few when i was a kid. He totaled one, jumped off a lil hill on to three other cars. hehe. Then he had another and my brother took me for a ride in it. I loved it

Then I always had to buy them in video games like in GT series for ps.

Then I had the doe for one, after i had my Peugeot 505 Turbo diesil.

Well I had always been a big v8 kinda guy until 98 when I had this mercedes that I absolutely hated. After doing evrything in the book to blow that car up, the motor finally went. Then about 6 mos. later I totalled my motorcycle...OH **** I NEED TRANSPORTATION!!! As luck would have it my g/f had a friend who was getting married and pregnant. Her fiance had a pretty nice 90 GXL that wasn't practical for a family so they sold it to me for $800. They thought the engine was on its way out...LOL Lasted me 40K mi. Of course I always did my own maintenance, so I had to learn about these rotaries. Well here I am now $6000 later with a completely re-done S5 GXL/TURBO and Loving it!!!

I was working as a salesman at my Uncle's car lot when a friend of his bought this 88 SE at auction to fix up and put on the lot. Kinda rough, 140k, 5speed. They half way painted it and set it on the lot. Sat there a year, no lookers. At some point it flooded and nobody knew what was wrong with it. I found out how to fix it and bought it for $700. Too much fun, alot more than the Escort it replaced. Then ran across a 86 GXL at another dealer. Real nice 90k, flooded engine, $600. So I bought it too. Sold them both last fall, spring comes, and a young mans fancy turns to windows down, sunroof open, five speed rotary fun. Bought a 90 TII I had spotted at a local junkyard last fall. Supposedly bad turbo, had it checked, sticky MAF or something. 100k miles, runs great. So I bought it. Most fun I 've had in a while.

Sorry about the lenth of the post. B)

ps. I'm still new to these cars so any helpful maintaince hints would be appreciated.

Welcome aboard, glad you found us!

Between 13BAce, Vosko and Powerpack there's not much that can't be answered on this board

I suppose I'm pretty good with them as well, but I still bow to the masters.

I don't know anything. I have enough people asking me for help everyday in real life.
