HONDA HATERS?????

i was just wondering why the **** almost every person that owns a mazda hates hondas??? i could never figure out what the hell was wrong with a person that hates on his own style of car.(ie rice burner). sure the ford guys hate chevys and the mopar guys hate ford, but when it comes down to it, they would pick one of those over an import any day.
to make things worse the honda has gotten import cars where they are today(in america). they are the main reason that the import scene is as big as it is. i'm not taking away from the old schoolers in their corrollas or 240's or rx-3, but the sport really took off when the kids started hooking up civics, crxs, and integras. because of honda we have tv coverage of import drags and other tv shows that cover our sport.
my point is this; maybe we should show honda a little more respect than it has been getting. i can't count how many times i have seen a post on this board or the other board talking trash about hondas.
is it because they rice out their rides??? because in case you haven't looked around; a lot of rx- 7 owners are riced out jacknuts too. i can't count the number of times i have seen an fc that has a huge wing, chrome rims, and a racing stripe. only to run a 17 sec courter mile. well i'm done and can't wait to see the reply to this one. i think that this should be fun, and oh by the way i do own an fd. so i can see how people can fall in love with such a great car, but if i had a choice of a 91-92 nsx or an fd i would take an nsx any day of the week.

I like hondas the way the are. I don't like rice.....
What do you consider rice for an rx7? What the honda guys do, is add nearly 4" fart tip and etc that no way helps them with their hp, but decreases it really...is not efficient(sp?)...
Some "stripes" on a rx7, or any care look stupid.. but I've found some cars (like Sledgehammer aka brian smith off the other forum, and uniqueTII's) that look helluva nice. That doesn't necessarily mean "rice."
The wings on some rx-7s are to help with the downforce. Before you dis, or whatever you call it, see what they've done with the car first. I believe some models come with wings, and not the "rice" wings you see.
A few of the wings I see on hondas contain bookshelf like wings. What in the world do those do? If you have 300HP+ or whatever like the 787B does, among the other F1 cars, then ya, that's fine, but you don't. That's rice.
Chrome rims on any car IMO, look gay as ****. So.. yeah.
Rice depends on people. People see rice differently, but it boils down to the same thing.
By the way, not everyone knocks down hondas. There are more riced cars other than hondas, that are knocked down.. but hondas are more, because that's all you rarely see.
By the way, I have nothing against the owners of hondas...... I like the Si... now that's a kick *** car... and I also like the S2K.....

I used to own a Honda accord.. not anymore.
I used to own a Dodge Carvan...not anymore.
I still own a Ford Taraus
and I still own a RX Subaru (no, not the WRX, but the daddy of the WRX).

And your NSX would get worked by me and my 3rd gen everytime. I don't mind hondas. I have owned two Preludes before but when are the kids gonna learn civics aren't sports cars. Why bother trying to make them something they are not. I have no problem with the guys that drag race and mod for that reason. But when I start seein the dumb **** like some the ridicoulous wings and rims on cars . I am gonna point and laugh. It's not just imports either. I have seen the escorts/neons/malibus/saturns and you name what other BS a teenager somewhere isn't trying to fit with rims or exhaust and reving my 7 like they got a ******* clue.

hahah, Speaking of D ave's post.... That reminds me..
I was driving along hwy98 tonight and saw a jeep (yes, you heard me, not a honda but a JEEP) with a wing, blue lights and a gree neon light underneathe the car.
It was a joy to laugh at

I don't hate Hondas, I actually respect them for what they are. Wonderfully engineered cars with pretty good quality.
What I hate are the ricers, Honda or otherwise. I could give a rat's *** whether there was an import "scene" or not. To claim that import performance only came about with Honda's is ignorant, though. People have been tricking out rotary cars and Z-cars and whatever other Japanese brands you can name since they've existed.
As far as the NSX goes, I almost wouldn't even consider it a valid comparison to the FD. If you examine the pricing on either, and then the performance and engineering, you'll see they are in completely different classes of automobiles.

hondas are great cars. i just like to laugh at people who do dumb things. a car that cant go over 100 mph doesnt need a big aluminum wing. a non vtec honda doesnt need vtec stickers or emblems. i will hate on rx7 owners who rice them out more than i would on a honda owner. they prob dont even know that they have a rotary engine.
