1500 for a timing belt ............ hondas dont bend valves just change the timing belt water pump and front seals

and u be ok

Timing belt, alternator, distributor, new tire and have my computer re-wired.

what vw motor you got thats not interference?



vw's are the most notorious timing belt eating cars out there, at almost exactly 60k the belt just goes poof, if you make it to 70k youre on borrowed time, and your water pump is probably 2 steps away from seizing.



unless you have a vr6.

meh vw's are bombs for thousands of other reasons *cough*engine oil sludge that vw has admitted is a problem in there engines yet they wont warranty is a big one*cough*



the timing belt thing can be avoided by simply doing your timing belt and waterpump, together, at about every 55k miles, at least.



btw, speak of the devil, had a 2.0 golf come in after i went back to work with a snapped belt, frozen waterpump being the culprit, and bent valves due to the interference design. buh bye lady, go to an engine shop or the dealer see ya later. i get like two of those every month, at least.



intereference motors dont make sense to me, that and why dont they switch all cars to timing chains? those things last at least 100k

VW oil rings are actually little sander belts inside your motor that wear out the cylinder walls!

vw`s are weird pices ... i did an oil change to a 95 2.0 jetta, when i was pulling out of the shop the fking car shutoff i crank it nothing keep crankin it and it sounded weird like it had no compresion.

well the timing belt snaped iwas thinking it bend valves and all of tha crap i replace the belt just too see whats up and surprice it ran fine . that was the only time i seen tha happen

I might not call vw's reliable, but the old ones at least are definitely durable - I have an old golf gti with 130k miles on it which is running really well.

the old mercedes v8's have timing chains and they need to be replaced (huge ugly job) every 70-80k.... only the germans could make a timing CHAIN last almost as long as a shitty mazda's timing BELT
