Did I see that right? The engine is mounted in there like a FWD?? Torque steer in a truck?



The truck looked pretty neat till I saw that...

It's called the Autocar sideways challenge. Every year they select so many people to compete in drifting around a track - there are always famous people there like head test-drivers and professional racecar/rallycar drivers, but it's also open to the public. These people have to bring a car and there always ends up being a huge variety - from Bentleys to bike powered buggies. They're marked by a panel of judges and if they're good enough they get to drive the final car which this year was a Titan. Last year it was some American single seater with a big block v8.

just because the engine's mounted transversely doesn't mean it's FWD, IIRC the 4WD Mitsubishi Evo's have transverse engines too.
