Thats funny. One of my favorite lines to use is "I use to be a surveyor". Mainly because the guy I worked with for many of the years I surveyed, and a truly funny and great man, would always make fun of the ex-surveyors we would run into that would always seem to say "I use to be a surveyor". Just cracks me up, i'm sure no one else has a clue. The 7th of april will be my 1 year aniversery for giving my notice that I was becoming a pilot. It was like a 2 month notice that ended up in me getting kicked to the curb that morning, haha good times.
I was obligated by an employment contract to give a 1 month notice. the contract also stated that I would not function as a licensed surveyor in the same county.

When I gave my 1 month notice and told him I was moving 6 counties south to make 20K more a year. He fired me on the spot after working for the ******* and busting my *** for 10 years. After 10 years and getting my liscense I was making 20K a year.

I found out later that if he let me go on the spot he still had to pay me for the 4 weeks. He didn't.

That is why I vowed never to be like any of my past bosses.

Hey that's friggin sweet. I used to own a red 1275 mini back in the islands. Where the hell you find minis I'd love to find me one for restoration. I'ave seen like one or two since moving here to the states. I still have bits of the 45DCOE weber carby and the intake manifold sitting in my garage just to remind me of those days. MUCH RESPECT FOR A MINI NUT. You not only have one but two, Dang that is CRAZY. Do you still run SU's or have you converted them.

Sheeeeeet you just made my day.

HOW SWEET THOU ART, YOU'RE MY KIND OF GUY.

Sweet man! Truck has a single 1 1/4 SU carb. Very simple setup. The car is the crazy beast, its a multi point injection with the whole computer setup. Hopefully it won't break down, lol.

Kewl. They are tough little cars, no problems with breakage as some of the cars today. (HIC I still own a rotary HIC) Any way should be fast, so you did all the cam stuff rebore stuff and head stuff. I really miss working on one, they're fun to be around. I also still have the "How to modify your BL A series" book written by David Vizard. That was fun reading.

Well I didn't rebuild the motors. Although on the truck I had to go through and setup the whole electrical and fuel system. Plus I rechecked valve clearences and just basic things. Rebuild the starter/distributor/and various other odds and ends.

There is a big resource of projects and fully done cars on the classic side of www.minimania.com Seems like I just saw a few shells being put up for sale. Always a huge resource for getting parts and questions answered.

Yeah I was horribly underpaid too. Paid well, but in the big picture the amount of dedication and hard work I put forth, I was highly under appreciated. Eventually it wore me down.
