Yeah, but a lot of people continue living in mobile homes and wood frame homes in areas that face the threat of multiple hurricanes year after year. Well, today they're called homes. Maybe they'll be called kindling in a few days. I guess homes are getting more modern over there in that area, but they still won't brush off a category 5 storm like those Okinawa homes (errr, bunkers more like ) do. So even a wussy little storm like it is now still gets a lot of attention.

Your missing the point. We have been flooding out already this summer. The ground is completely saturated at my house. If i touch the ground it is wet and has been for at leats two months now. We get maybe two or three days without rain for every week of rain we get. Its not the wind alone that will be the problem. Its all the water that we are about to get. Not to mention that you guys all live in military housing that was built to withstand gail forcewinds. My house walls consist of siding, insulation board,1/4 Particle board, 2x4 studs and drywall. All said and done its maybe 6"-7" thick if that. I also have trees around my house that tower over it by triple the height. So with the that in mind 105 mph winds are no joke.

Come ride this storm out in our conditions then tell me how wimpy this storm is.

See the trees around my place?

Not at all like Okinawa which seems to have very small trees from what I can tell.

dave.... i hope things die down before it gets to you..... and even more dead when it gets to us here in jersey.

since you're in a constantly flooded area.... i would suggest putting your car on jack stands.

thank god i live on a hill

Nice house Dave. Maybe if some of those trees get knocked down you'll have room for a three car garage
