OK so I got my car home and figured I'd check the motor first to see if it had compression. I pulled out the leading plug from the front rotor, and it sounds a little weak, but probably needs some oil in there. The car sat for 2 years. So I put the plug back and try the rear rotor... pss........pss........pss....... ****. Is there anything I can try to get this thing going? Everything else seems good. Should I try putting some oil in there through the plug hole to get a seal?

oh the pss is good. it means there is compression. You take out the leading plug and should hear "pss pss pss" but if you have a bad apex seal you hear "pss........pss".

 

so its low on the front rotor? you might wanna try a little oil in there, you've got a 3% chance that somethings stuck

 

I'll try it, what have I got to lose if it's bad anyway? Worst case scenario is that it doesn't work.

Isn't that a tad unusual? I thought the rear rotors were the ones most likely to blow. Or is that just on the Turbo II's?

 

little bit, seems like most of the time its rear, but front can go too, especially if its old

It is the rear rotor. And it is a bad apex seal. And I need a 12a cheap and fast.... unless there is a cheap and fast way to replace the apex seals? Seems like you pretty much have to do a complete rebuild... which I don't have the time for at the moment (car must be moved by the 20th, either into storage or running + driving).
