I just bought some Lucas Tranny fluid and Dex III fluid. I put some cardboard on the bottom of the engine to see where the leak was. The leak was around the front of the motor in front of the fan shroud. I put a cup to collect the fluid and i went directly up from the spot on the cardboard. and its two metal lines. One is bone dry and the other one is soaked in fluid. I smell the oil and it smelled like trany fluid but i dont know cause i have some on my hands so is this line the tranmsision liine

iF so can i use JB weld to weld the hole after i clean it out?

Jason

URGENT lol

thanks

even easier fix with a small piece of rubber hose cut in half and a band style hose clamp, mine has been like that for like 5 years now.

I told him how to do this months and months ago

thats a power steeering line. THe transmission was empty and it wasnt leaking when i turned it on and it smoked. Today i filled up the transmission fluid put 2 quarts of dex III and 16 oz of lucas and then it began leaking i check the fluid and it was Transmissioin fluid. So im guessing thats the transmission line.

I cant find the haynes manual to check the pipe so im so pissed right now.

that hose is for your power steering system. Not your tranny. Where are you pouring this fluid that you were talking about? Via the fill hole of the tranny midshift of the car?

or the power steering pump dip stick?

i put the transmission fluid inside the transmissioin dipstick hole since theres no resovoir. For the powersteering there is a resovoir and i know which one it is so im not putting it in the wrong location.

WHen it was empty and i started teh car, there was NO FLUID LEAK. Then smoke began to eminate from the transmission bell housing. Today i put 2 quarts of tranny fluid in the dipstick hole with a funnel and some lucas oil, there was NO SMOKE FROM THE TRANSMISSION housing section.

Then i left the car running and was chcking the cardboard to see if it was leaking then i was seeing where it was leakign so i put a cup there to hold the fluid. and the liquid coming out is RED, and VERY CLEAN and is transmission fluid. SO this leads me to the conclusion its a Transmission line of some sort.

Im trying to find the haynes book and i cant find it to see what line that is for.

Jason.

P.S i cant get my jack under the car . How safe are those plastic ramps?
