Thats why you carry a knife or a gun. You kill or mortally injure one ... and like JT said. They all run away. Perferably grab one and stab him in the side, right under the rib cage. That way blood will spew everywhere and freak them all out. The kid will still be alive and so horrified that none of the others want it to happen to them. When they leave... let the kid go find a phone and call the hospital himself.
