Most states are different to varying degrees. Being from Maryland, strict I think, you should pry check and see if its even legal first. If so, basically, its classroom instruction, a back ground check, range time (to prove you can use a weapon) and some paperwork.

For that price why didn't you just get a Wilson Combat or a Les Baer instead? I carry a Kimber Compact 4" 1911 right now but I'm wanting a Wilson Combat.

Les Baer was an option, but they were a little flashy for my taste, and they get real pricey if you stray too far from their typical models. Wilson Combat makes a decent 1911, but the one I shot, did'nt even make me consider it. I dont think Wilson Combat is in the same league as Ed Brown, Les Baer, and Nighthawk Customs.

 

Funny, the Wilson I shot was sweet. I just never thought about spending that much on a carry rig myself. That's why I went with a kimber, it's still pricey but not too bad as compared to the best on the market. I'd like to have a nicer one for range use only but I need another firearm about as much as I need more car parts...

when i finally get my concealed i will carry a glock 33, .357 sig and 6.29x4.17x1.18

 

I've got a glock too but it's hard to beat a good 1911. A glock shoots like *** compared to a good 1911 but that is a whole other debate, some people like their trigger pulls...

 

I'm looking at getting a handgun after I get my Concealed Weapons Permit. What would y'all recomend. I was told to look for probably a revolver without an exposed hammer, so I can't catch it on any clothing when removing it.

Exactly. All other pistols bow before 1911s. I've carried most of them for some training scenario or another. Berretta 92FS/96, Glock 22 and Glock22C, H&K MK23, H&K USP. A coupe of different SIGs...ya'all get the point.



You simply cant beat a 1911. Especially a custom made that looks better naked than you're girlfriend.
