A strike is a chickenshit way for Labor to try and persuade Management into an unfair contract. Most times Labor has the mentality that Management is living high off the hog with money to burn, so why not send a rediculious offer to the table, with every intention to strike. It will end up in arbitration which usually works out to be some poor bastard to mediate a huge pissing match between Labor and Management and when the contract is finally approved, it's always closer to Management's initial offer, and no matter how long the proceedings take, the conditions are rarely retroactive.

I wouldn't be surprised. I don't remember where I saw it, but the scope of the article was that at lower income levels Canada was supposed to be cheaper. Perhaps they took in more cost of living related things such as housing, etc.

the strike ******* sucked. every other market was packed with high *** prices. and if you dare to cross the picket line you would get fucked with or get fucked with when they get back to work and they are checking your items out. either way.
i crossed the picket line. sorry to say but i did. i could not stand waiting at another super market and pay those expensives prices when i have a family to feed. the workers prolly make more money than i do and they get benefits, i dont even get benefits. lucky bastards

Bye bye Miller, Carrier, and good luck Kodak. I think it's safe to say that central NY is fucked. Miller = Fulton, Carrier = Syracuse, and Kodak = Rochester.
No joke, outside of Fulton, NY they used to have a sign that said: "Fulton, a city with a future" and they actually took that **** down when Miller left. I hear Nestle is also thinking of leaving.

Graduate students wanted more pay as teachers assistants at the university and they were blocking the driveways, letting a car through every 2 minutes or so.
