Gotta have surgery.

Well ,
I am finally going to have rotator /shoulder surgery. I hurt it years ago lifting and it has gotten worse even after I quit hard lifting three years ago that I want it over. I want to get back in the gym. Have any of you guys had this type of surgery?
It's a torn Labrum. How long does it take to recover and how painfull is rehab?

i just had a "Munford" procedure... it's shoulder surgery, but way less invasive than what you are doing. They removed an inch of my collar bone 14 days ago. Said it normally takes about 3 weeks before patients can remove the sling and start using the arm again... and 6-8 weeks before it is "normal" again. After 5 days i was able to start using it and i can even drive the car with is a stick shift . It has a lil bit of reduced strenght in it so far, but no where near what i was expecting.
Just remember...stock the refrigerator with LOTS of beer before the surgery.

Ouch. I knew a girl in high school that tore her labia and had to have surgery. Good luck!
