Not exactly a ringing endorsement for GM quality when people are running out buying Audi's so they can have a reliable car. I hear a lot of bad things about VW and Audi, but I swear my wife's A6 has been damn near perfect since we bought it new in 2001. Just lucky, I guess. And it's a damn nice car.

I wish I could say the same.

I had a 2001 A6 2.7T Quattro tons of electrical gremlins. Plus it had a coolant leak that took 3 visits and over a month in the shop to fix. I figured I had a bad car so I traded it in on a 2005 3.2 Quattro on lease. Biggest mistake of my life. It picked up where the other one left off. Bead battery for no reason, windows that roll down but not up until its good and ready to let you, sunroof that does the same, at 3K miles the 6 disc changer died and we never got the CD's back out of it. One time I was walking towards it and hit the key fob to unlock the doors and the windshield wipers came on!! Its screwing with me!!

August 2008 cannot come fast enough, I cannot wait to drive it down to the Audi Stealership and walk away. Last Audi for me ever. I'll stick with Toyota and Honda products from now on.

******* Audi is bad, they look cool and all but man I know a ton of lemons first hand from people I know who owned them.

I will ALWAYS picture Audi like this:

I really like a few of the newer Audi's (A6, RS4, etc...) but I can't get past the reliability issues that most people have with them. I guess I'll stick with Subaru for a while longer.

As far as trucks go, I'd like to pick up (ha) a Nissan Titan one of these days. I almost bought one recently but ended up with my Legacy instead.

we're planning on buying the new jetta bluetec diesel when it comes out. i've heard good and bad on bth audi and vw. my brother in law LOVED his audi, it's like land rovers, if you get a good one they last forever if you get one of the piles of **** they break down leaving the dealer. honestly the only"great quality" vehicles i've owned are the full size ford trucks, my dad put a lot of hard miles on 3 ford f150's and he treated them like ****. dunno about the newer one's though.

I've been toying with the idea of a diesel VW as well. I would love to get that kind of fuel economy.

the new 2 litre is gonna be nice.

this why you lease your everyday car and own your toys

I dont even buy tires and almost never even have to do a brake job anymore

I'm leaning toward that, we'd probably end up buying a new car as soon as this one is paid off anyway. The only problem I have with leasing is the mileage restriction, we put a lot of miles on.

Yea i've been farting around with a friends gmc its an 03 and the TPS is taking a ****. Which cuts off the throttle and makes it useless until you delete the code... good times.

Yep - another common problem. CPS, TPS and all the other sensors pretty much. I've heard too many stories about people in low mile GMC's sitting on the side of the road.

Guess that's why On-Star is a popular option...

Do you have a vortech engine? Vortech's have a common problem of the intake manifold gasket taking a ****, somewhat relating to the fact that they use Dexcool instead of "yellow" propylene glycol based antifreeze. I just bought a Chevy ZR2 and haven't had any problems with it. 01 93,xxx miles runs great.

yea no ****, I did several intake manifold gaskets when i worked at the gm dealership, they are quite common, I even came accross one with a cracked manifold.
