Ok so - not only is my Supra being a *****, but my 2002 Yukon is as well...

The freakin truck as 70K miles on it, and it's screwing up all over the place. Since the cold weather has come, the POS doesn't run cold worth a ****. It starts right up, revs to 1K RPMS, then falls on it's face, and sometimes stalls. Does this till warm, then runs fine.

I've been all over the intarWEB and I'm pretty confident I know what the problem is. The intake manifold gaskets. It appears to be a very common problem, not recalled, but covered under warranty. Happens to like 50% of these turds.

I guess, the cold gaskets shrink, and whatever holes, tears, or whatever they are are letting air in, leaning the motor. It dumps fuel to compensate and stumbles all over the place till the gaskets warm up and stop leaking. Seems logical enough, but what I dont get is how they sell these things for 40K and don't recall known problems like this. I have like 500 miles left on my extended warranty and have had NO help from the service department getting the goddamn lemon in the shop to get fixed.

And I sure as hell don't feel like doing it myself.

Doesn't help that I have very little time to be without a car, either. Warranty doesn't cover rental.

Sorry - had to vent. Tired of getting screwed over.

I knew I should have got a Lexus or Toyota. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.gif

Yup. I was gonna say it. Then you said it in the last sentence.

Still.... I think I may try to talk the wife into getting an American car when we trade in the Audi in 10 or 20 years. The new CTS is looking like a contender.

Don't get me wrong - the Yuke is a NICE ass truck. Just the little **** gets to me.

Good side though... I did get hold of the dealership finally. Friday at 7AM it goes in. Now I just hope they don't try to do the normal bullshit of replacing the plugs, wires, and all that **** in hopes of me going over the warranty miles.

I know the problem - just hope they listen!

Sinful7 12-05-2007 03:59 PM

Oohhh, Yeah.. I've been working on a problem with my Bravada for a little over a year now.

I bought the audi so I could have a reliable car in the meantime.

'Justin' and 'reliable car' just DO NOT go together. LOL

My WRX has a cold weather issue as well so I know how much this sucks. On my car, the fuel injection return lines are too short and when it's cold the rubber hose stretches to the point where you get a fuel leak (the smell comes into the cabin through the heater). Since it hasn't caused a fire to date it's not recalled either.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement for GM quality when people are running out buying Audi's so they can have a reliable car. I hear a lot of bad things about VW and Audi, but I swear my wife's A6 has been damn near perfect since we bought it new in 2001. Just lucky, I guess. And it's a damn nice car.

Yea i've been farting around with a friends gmc its an 03 and the TPS is taking a ****. Which cuts off the throttle and makes it useless until you delete the code... good times.

this why you lease your everyday car and own your toys

I dont even buy tires and almost never even have to do a brake job anymore

You learned a valuable lesson. Stick with Toyota and Honda and your golden.

I had a 2001 Dodge Dakota and it worked great, not a problem, until it hit, 60K miles then all the little things started going wrong.

I traded it in on a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser and I could not be happier. I have racked almost 30K miles in the 1st year problem free, not a single issue at all.

Good luck! Get in the stealerships face and make them fix it before your warranty expires.
