Hey Tyson, did it ever occur to you that marriage is a celebration of love and devotion, rather than a legally binding contract or some religious bullshit?
OK Ed said what I meant, only it made more sense and he was quicker to the reply.
I guess I should say that I rarely talk about religion, I think that the whole religion discussion is counterproductive, everyone has their beliefs and that is awesome, i wouldn't want it any other way. I can't nor can anyone convince me that their view is correct. It's something I rarely discuss because people are so passionate and they rightfully so they think their view is right.

So if this topic upsets you, take a minute to think, to see the others view and realize that an opposing view in no way threatens the validity of yours.
Well said, but most religions teach you the opposite of this fact.
HA HA shh, I wanted to get it out there before I had people sending me hate mail and damning me to hell.

I think we should all take a minute to cool our jets, and remember to celebrate our differences, it is what makes living here so wonderful.

I try.

I think my sister's wedding was not only a huge sign of commitment, but also a "take it or leave it" for the family. Luckily for them, almost everyone came and approved.

A wedding is not a contract, it's a ceremony.

I think the only people threatened by gay marriages are the guys that are afraid they might go to vegas get hammered and come home with a new husband. Right, now the marrying dude tells them no and he just wakes up telling everyone that Tequila makes his butt hurt.

HA HA I don't know where I came up with that sorry.
I don't quite understand why gay people want to get married in the first place. Do they think it makes them a happy couple just like their parents? With how shitty marriage stats are out there anyway, what's the point? Do they think marriage will help them stay together for the kids, like so many regular couples do?

Since they have been allowed to be considered common law for a while now, why go to the extra step of a "marriage" which in this day and age is mostly a religious consideration anyway? Legally, common law couples are in practically the same boat anyway, why go to the extra step? Marriage has generally been considered the precursor to the traditional family picture, so I think the gay marriage is pretty stupid.
medical decisions, taxes, ummm...what else?
All those things are covered under common law.
