i dont think we should tap into the oil reserves, just open up some of the fields in alaska and wherever else they are. the reserve wasnt meant for higher gas prices, but for a time when we have no other way of getting oil. (like in a war and our supply lines were cut off)

Fiirst off the US doesn't use US oil unless it has to, we use foreign oil, there are wells drilled and capped all over the US, I know because my dad helped build some of the facilities in alaska, they have never been touched and aren't part of the "reserves". It's doubtful that opening up the reserves will do much of anything, the oil companies are as always controlling the price, a week ago the refineries couldn't keep up, now they can't get enough oil.
