Actually the federal oil reserve was create din the 70s when we were being threatened, its something like 727 Million Barrels of oil.
It is stored in 4 seperate salt mines, underground, 2 in texas and i believe 2 in new mexico...i know two are in texas not positive on the other 2.
THe oil can be pumped out at a rate of 4.4 million barrels a day, and it will take 13 days for it to reach and effect the market from the day that bush gives the go ahead.
Im surprised no one else has heard of the reserve, its one of the first things bush did when he got in office, the Reserve was at like 60% capacity, he filled it to 100% and left it like that.

I remember hearing about the reserve, just wasn't positive where it/they were. And I knew that Kerry was for using it up asap, and Bush wanted to hold it for a rainy day.

The LOOP off my coast is where one in ten barrels in the US is loaded from. All the rigs shut in and the oil tankers on divert for the big bitch.
