I have a HP nw8000 Mobile Workstation through my school and overall I've been impressed with it. It has a nice combo of hardware and software (part of which is my schools doing) and the laptop itself seems well built. I've had it for coming up on 2 years now and the only problem I've had is I had to replace the CPU fan since the bearings went to ****. I think that was from the heavy, heavy usage and daily transportation (its goes nearly everywhere with me).

You should be good to rock with HP in my opinion.

 

wow, i started off caring and wanting to read this, but then like i dunno, i just flake! i do think its odd that the warranty papers dont ship with the computer

 

my dell laptop did the samething to me. right when the warranty was up the monitor went out
