need I remind you that the motor was a Merlin by RollsRoyce....
and they were built before Ford went blank and stole that name.
Hey...I wonder if it was requirement for pilots to have mullets back then

Anti Tank/Armor Fighter Bombers
1.USA- P-38 Lightning
2.Germany- Stuka
Bombers
1.USA- B-17
As for the bombers there was only one that stands out like this one. I dont think any other plane could fly in the shape that these flew in. Some were actually reported making landings back in England, missing parts of wings, and with big assed holes in the side. Tell me a spitfire could do that. The B-17 is by far the greatest prop airplane of a time.

heh my friend drives a blue one just like that. the term beater doesn't begin to describe it. the first day of school he hit 5 parked cars. the kid is the worst driver ever. the other day a firetruck was comming so he went to pull over for it to go by and he jumped the curb. good times
