Well, it starts out at 5 am when my girlfriend wakes me up. she had been having anxiety and stress-related problems with swallowing (aka, she couldnt) for about a day, but they suddenly got much worse since 2 am (when we went to sleep). We get up and need to walk to the ER b/c that was really the only thing left to do that we hadnt tried the night before. She is panic-ing because she hasnt been able to eat or drink anything for over a day and is worried about dehydration, and Im trying to keep her calm (and stay awake myself)

So we sit around the ER for 3 hours waiting for the psychiatrist to make his way down there, and then when he does come, he cant really do anyhting cause he isnt the head psychiatrist, so we are stuck waiting another couple hours for this guy to show up. He gets in, and keeps us waiting an additional hour before he will see her, at which point he is pretty unfriendly. my gf gets a perscription for some kind of relaxant which will hopefully help with the swallowing, and half an hour later we leave with a list of names of psychiatrists/therapists that accept her insurance.

At this point, her mom is on the way in, and I need to make it to some classes (i already missed one), so she meets up with her mom to check out the people on the list and I go to class. At the end of class (at 5 PM), i get a call from my mom saying that one of my lifelong friends has just died from cancer. We sorta expected it, but not nearly this soon, its still a hell of a shock. So i get home and meet up with her, but I really dont want to tell her any more bad news since she is already pretty stressed and in a shitty mood, plus her parents are around. Then she goes home with them to hopefully relax a bit and not worry about school, and I go upstairs to take a nap. Not two seconds after I get into bed do i get a call from her... the ******* elevator broke, stranding them halfway btwn the 4th and 5th floors. GRRRREEEEEAAAAAAAT. So now we have to call the super and the elevator repair guy, and wait around (another half hour) for them to show up and get them out.

After that I was finally able to take my (much needed) nap, but its been one hell of a shitty, tiring, fucked up day [/rant]

holy ****! After two significant things go wrong in the same day, i usually lock myself in a room and drink myself to sleep. At least if something else goes wrong I won't know about it till the next day.
