Ok, here's the buildup:



Ed likes Nicky a lot.

Nicky is from Ed's town, but is away for the summer.

Ed went to see Nicky in other town and had a great time.

Nicky is in Ed's town for the weekend.



The story:

Nicky called me yesterday, which was a surprise. I was quite happy to hear the Magnificent 7 theme on my cell phone, because that's her custom ringer. Anyway, after about a 10 minute conversation, the true purpose of the call is revealed....they're having a party and she needs booze. Great, I'm the 26 year old sucker who likes the 20 year old, so I buy. I hang out at her house for a while after buying $43.75 worth of liquor (it turned out not to cost me anything), and then head to RD's house for fireworks and stuff. I call her on my way back to Ames and she still wants me to come over, saying that the 4:2 girl:guy ratio is in my favor, playing off the fact that I'm interested in her. Sure, her friends are cute and a lot of fun to talk to, but they have nothing on her, so I'm hoping I can move things along with her tonight. No. She gets a call from some guy and goes outside to talk. From what her friends are saying, it's a guy who "tried to get on her" in the past. Great...the cornerstone to a bad night has been laid. 10 minutes later, he's at the door. "Oh, by the way, **** is coming over." Hoo-******-ray, says Ed. I felt like I was fighting for attention for the rest of the night, which was unpleasant to say the least. If her nurse friend wasn't playing with my arms and making me strong drinks I would have been a little more mad...lol. I guess it's my fault for being such a ***** around certain girls, but when I feel they're worth a serious relationship, I try way too hard not to **** things up. Oh well, I'm home now, drunk as ****, and probably whining.



This was just a venting post. Offer advice, share similar stories, tell me to grow some nuts...whatever...it's cool.

 

Dude, there's more fish in the sea. And if she want's you, she'll kick him to the curve and come looking for you. Or she just used you for drinks (hope not).

I don't think she would have used me, but you never know. I know there are more fish in the sea, but she's quite attractive/intelligent/friendly so her type is pretty rare. Of course, that also means that there is a lot of competition.
