Get a wireless router. Make sure the signal is accessible, and has good signal strength. Bring in someones laptop to check that. If you only doing it on a few computers (desktop) Easier way would to pick up some PCI Wireless Cards. (doesn't have to be this brand. just an example). Pop one of those onto your computers. (SUPER easy) If it comes with software install it. Then onces it running it should "find" a wireless access point ( your friends ) and if you can get online that PRESTO! your done.

Also make sure your default connection in the TCP/IP section is set to obtain IP automatically. Also the DNS is set to obtain automatically.

Control Panel -> Network Connections -> (what ever your wireless connection icon is)

Right click -> Properties

"General Tab" -> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

Just check the boxes.

And bamm! you should be ready to rock n roll all over the net!

OR!

If you wanna be ghetto, and have a slow dial up connection, you can sign up for like aol and do there 3 months free service. And after your 3months is up, give them a call and tell them that your going to try another service dont say who. And they'll give you 3 MORE months FREE!

Then repeat every 3 months. It is a pain but it is free. BUT painfully slow 56k dial up connection

Any questions ^_^
