i just lost my whole game. i took the card out right before buying the re fd to see if it would win the gt world championship and when it wouldnt let me get in without a mem card in the slot i put it back in and hit retry. when i did that it went to a messed up screen and now when i try to start it up it just sticks on the auto load screen. this really sucks bc i was about 25.7 percent done and had just completed the first endurance, and i had 4 full pages of cars. this really sucks!

apparently it is not idiot proof

lmao!

Zelgadis21 03-10-2005 04:33 AM

ah **** happens but i dont feel alone now. It makes me feel good to know that some one is playing as much as me

Comitatus 03-10-2005 09:54 AM

yeah, the game is VERY picky about memory cards.

The best thing to do is to back it up with another memory card often (in the PS2 menu, not actually in the game) in case anything happens like this...

Haha..yeah we are not alone...

check out www.gtplanet.net

yeah, they ARE nuts!

mazdadrifter 03-10-2005 10:03 AM

you can turn autosave off in the misc. options menu

well who would think that pulling the card out while it wasnt in use would be a problem?

auto save is off but it still saves everytime you switch cars, another annoying part of this game

PhoenixDownVII 03-10-2005 12:28 PM

Yeay. Now you can go outside, have fellowship with friends, get a life, and perhaps drive REAL cars more often! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif

drunkin_idiot 03-10-2005 12:51 PM

Dont worry, I did the same thing on GT3, but luckily I had it backed up on another memory card, I had 98.3% of the game done.

ouch, that woulda sucked. i guess ill go buy another mem card tonight

GreyGT-C 03-10-2005 01:37 PM

wonder if that is to keep your freinds from "borrowing" your licenses without actually completing the test themselves?

donhayes 03-10-2005 01:50 PM

I hate it how you have to save after everything you do. Sometimes i just like to **** around and buy various cars and not save it. I guess i can't do that anymore.

well you can turn the autosave off to not have to save after everything, but even with it off it autosaves every time you get into a new or different car

phinsup 03-10-2005 01:58 PM

Wow so when it tells you 15 times on the initial load and 45 times in the manual not to remove the memory card they must have meant it.

well i dont actually read the manual, and it just says not to remove it while its in use. i thought it was only in use when the red mem card flashed at the top right, that would make sense

Rotarydragon 03-10-2005 02:08 PM

What's a memory card? I own an Xbox...

Srce 03-10-2005 02:12 PM

There's two handy lights on the front of the playstation, when it's blue, it's in use.

NOT ON THE SLIM ONE!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png

really it shouldnt have been in use, the game was just sitting there

phinsup 03-10-2005 05:29 PM

no power lights? that sucks

Srce 03-10-2005 05:32 PM

Uhh, there is a power light. When it's off the thing is red, when it's on, the thing is green. But you can't shut the power down totaly like on the big PS2, there's not button in the back.
