it is NOT a part of the "parts buying process"

this guy is doing shitty business and everyone is trying to defend him..

my little brother has a t2 and waited almost 3 months for a ******* clutch and flywheel.

this bullshit has to stop.
These two statements somewhat amaze me as well. 2 posts before the "it's not part of the parts buying process" he mentions that his brother waited 3 months for a clutch. So he wasn't buying parts? Last I checked clutches were parts.

The fact of the matter is **** gets backordered, takes longer then we would like. Like I said, that **** happens, but either way you every right to know what the status is and base your decision on whether or not you want to continue waiting on the info provided.

Monday will be 4 weeks I am waiting on a mortgage decision, due to the flood of re-financing because of low interest rates, it takes the banks 3-4 times longer to do thier business. We also had a boat waiting for a windshield for 3 months, it was supposed to be there in 2 weeks. Took the guys money because it was $3500, then he kept calling, we would call the company, they would tell us some story..... sooooo what are we supposed to do? Give the guy his money back until the thing comes in? I know you are pissed, but sometimes, just sometimes, it really is out of people's hands. And if they give you your money back, what are they supposed to do with the parts? I would imagine a small company like Slava's doesnt have ALL that much money for inventory, give the guy a chance to defend himself I say.

exactly- he should return the money.

do you think he even called the distributor to see if they had it in stock?

not before he took his $$$ he didn't.

if you kept a customer waiting for 3 months for a windshield- then you are doing shitty business. you should have: ordered from another supplier(and compensated the customer for the extra wait above what you quoted him), yes giviing the money nack until the part comes in wouldn't be out of the question if it made the customer feel more comfortable. if it's out of your hands why do you feel that it's good business practice to put it in the customers? (the only thing he did wrong was to go through you)

slava's small business and others like it perpetuate this problem. giving the money back and carrying the part in inventory is exactly what he should do.(of course he cannot afford this though, because he only puts as much money into his business as it costs to setup a little website)

would a large company like home depot do this? (4months+ ****)

hell why don't i start a business too? give me 6 months and i'll have your part. internet drop-shipping "businesses" that carry ZERO inventory are bs. consumers should become more resourceful and check out who they're buying from and if it's possible to order direct from the manufacturer.

phinsup- my brother was an example of the kind of bs i'm talking about. when did i say i was ok with him waiting 3 months?

I was supposed to get my mortgage decision in 2 weeks, only reason I gave that example.

I guess you didnt read carefully enough when I said we ordered the windshield, and it was supposed to be there in 2 weeks.

Only one company makes the windshield, Taylor, there are NO distributors for it. WE DID CALL THEM WEEKLY, and we were told they would send it that week, what are we supposed to do? Fly to the factory and kick the guys *** who told us this over the phone? THERE WAS NO OTHER WAY TO GET THIS THING, its not a ******* air cleaner or some ****, its a windshield that was made for Sea Ray by Taylor, Sea Ray doesnt stock it, you have to get it from Taylor. We told the guy he could have his money back and he could try to get a better response time from Taylor ( considering they dont sell to private people so thats not an option), he opted to wait, his only other choice was to find someone in the country who could have CUSTOM made him a windshield from scratch considering a ******* tree fell on his boat, it probably would have cost him around $10,000, because thats what the last custom windshield cost to have made. We offered the guy his money back, he declined, THE POINT of the my story was that it was OUT OF OUR HANDS.

Now, Im not saying Slava is right, but for you to sit there and tell me that we in some way fucked this guy over with that windshield is crazy, what do you do for a living might I ask? I bet I can create a situation that seems fucked up to the consumer, but there is a logical explanation for it.
