My advice to you is to wait until the title is in his possession before you pay him any money. Either that, or the owner should let you take the car as collateral for the title. When he receives the title, he can then contact you, and then you will pay him. (Assuming that you were out to screw him in this case,...he can always report the car as stolen.)



Besides, currently, you don't know who is the legal registered owner on the title. (He could screw you currently).



When he shows up w/ the title, verify that he is the registered owner by comparing the name on the title w/ the name on his driver's license.



After you have verified all of this, THEN pay him the money.

 

Ohh hell no he dont have any money except for the $200 I gave him for a deposit the first day we talked.That casheirs check is sitting right here in the safe.

fast forward 6 months. title is still on the desk in the same place

 

theres the possibility that the reason for the delay 4rotor..

is payment prior to title release..

if he had a lien on the car...

he needs to pay the loan amount off the car before the bank can remove the lein and send...
