damn man i cant wait 2 move back 2 fla where it's a hell of alot warmer than chicago....tha only downside is all tha "racers" talk way to much **** bout thier cars tha white part of thier eyes start 2 turn brown.....other than that i miss orlando

What is the deal with Okechobee? While planning my eventual property purchase in Florida, Okechobee seems ideal, at least on a map. Live on a fresh water lake, drive 30 minutes to the ocean. Is it clean and developed? Or a swampy reptile infested marsh?

(he wasin 30 feet of water) he got to the top and pulled his catch bag up as he climbed into his boat.
He is crazy. I would have pooped my wetsuit then peed and then puked once I was safe in the boat.

As I continue to do small trips in an effort to break in my engine. Here are pics fom Lake Okeechobee:
A dyke system was built in the mid to early 1900's after two hurricanes came through and the lake flooded overrunning its shores andclaiming over 3000 lives.
My car is on top of one of the Dykes at the south end of the lake in Port Mayaca,
In this pic you can see I am about 30 feet above natural grade. When the lake gets too much water they dump it down the canals and inot the Atlantic and Gulf messing up the salinity of the water and killing fish and other underwater life.
