Yeah, my hand cramps up only if I play a song that requires a lot of my wrist muscles, but now it's getting better as I keep practicing. Edit: In other words, it's one of those things that'll get better the more you keep trying it.

i still cant play chords in a musical fashion, just trying to get them all memorized and hoping the ability to switch will come with time.

I just do tabs. I can't read music at all. I'm a big pinky user for those longer stretches/hammers and if I can't quite play a more complicated song, I learn some other ones and come back to it.

I can read music although with every song under the sun in tab format I wouldn't bother, but I just dont have the ability to change chords quickly... i am sure as I get more familiar it will come easier.

For real phins, get Guitar Pro. It puts every song in tab and music-note format, and it'll play the song to let you know how it sounds if you want it to. Hell, I'll send you a burned copy on a cd if you want.

Yeah, the learning curve was really steep when I started a few weeks ago, but having played the bass on and off for a while really helped that a bit.
