Ecu For V8?

Its not for me. i'm trying to help one of the toyota tundra guys with his setup. He wants to go twin turbo on the tundra v8.
what stand alone company makes the best app. for a v8? or are they all the same?
I also read something about a new self tuning ECU thats coming out later this year. Whats that all about?

he was thinking about using the stock ecu with a jet chip.
he was also under the assumption that you could just bolt turbo's to the ends of long tube headers. He said the long tube headers would help him maintain low end torque because of the scavenging effect. LOL..
thats why I'm trying to help him though.
seriously, what would y'all reccomend? I'm not familiar with v8's running on ecu's...

ummm...maybe you should inform him that its gonna be expensive and I'm almost certain that the turbos won't just bolt right up..and even if they did, i'm sure the headers weren't designed to have weight bolted to the bottom of them...which would cause the headers to crack.

I do mostly agree with you Phins, but the turbo would help to increase both power and torque, which would help with towing, etc.
And while it makes sense to buy a fast car if you want to go fast, it's like the first principle of Redneck-ism to make the **** you have go faster. There are lots of V-8 S-10's at the strip, and some of them are even quick. Now there's a perfectly useless vehicle... But hey, it's all good. We all looking for g's, we just go about it in different ways.
