Ebay
As a business owner myself I know that any merchandise I sell, in any venue, I have to pay sales tax to the state whether I collected it at the time of the sale or not. It sounds like to me that the guy your dealing with is a jerk! I have bought alot of stuff on ebay, and have yet had any trouble, but i
always check the feed back before I bid.

Actually, the only trouble I've had was with Atkins Rotary.... she left me bad feedback stating I never responded to invoices and didn't purchase item.... I called her the next day after auction close and paid over the phone... I even left them positive feedback over a month ago!! That's my concern about businesses on ebay... sometimes, the volume is too much and they don't manage their auctions right.
Other than that, ebay is actually better than online stores if you consider the ability to check, give, and receive feedback, the potential for better deals and selection, and the fraud options if you are done wrong by someone.
I usually won't sell (you can retract bids for items you are selling) or buy to people with less than 3 positive feedback rating and avoid sunglasses! Some people want to hide everything.... that doesnt make sense to me, especially if you're trying to sell something.
