You see, when I select that partition (my serial ata hard drive, the one that has XP) it says in order to install XP on this hard drive, setup will have to write some startup files to my Linux hard drive....to continue, create an NTFS partition on my Linux hard drive...

Your not trying to install windows xp again theres a repair thing on the cd.

I just unplugged the Linux hard drive and it booted fine.

I cant do that because my bootloader is on the hdd with linux....

So how can I get Grub to work now...? I think the whole thing about XP being on the SATA drive screwed stuff up.

Or...just when I want to use Linux I put in the boot disk, but I don't know how to change my current config to get rid of Grub.

Meh, like phins said, the repair option on your xp instal cd should get rid of grub and have it boot straight to xp.

I did repair, but Grub still loads when both HDD are connected.
