Any recomendations on what software to use?

The camera uses firewire to output digital video and my laptop has a port, but I think I need extra software to make the transfer? I've just went out and got a cable.

Hmmm...how fluent are you in using computers?

I would recommend Adobe Premier, but it might be more than you really need.

Windows Movie Maker might be a good choice as well, it's free.

It's not there. all I can find on the net is that it was on ME and XP, not 2000.
