he has a short shifter, but not a short throw shifter, in essence, it is a cosmetic mod, because imo, the stock shifter is kind of stupid, sitting all high in the air and everything, this is, interesting looking, but still better than having a shift knob on stilts, it doesn't shorten the throw at all however.

I don't like them. The further you have to move your hand away from the wheel to shift, the longer it takes. The shift throw is long enough as it is, why make it take even LONGER to shift?

yeah, from a driving perspective it is worse, I know if my shift knob moved, I would probably kill myself, because I would miss it completely, and instead of shifting, I would slap myself, then lose control and crash, but, as far as asthetics go, it is different (some will say better looking, some will say stupid looking, I am undecided)

Everyone here is argueing...

Ok heres the deal...the concept of a "short throw shifter"is to shorten the pivot point of the shifter to make the throws short...and take less effort..

When you cut 2-3 inches off of a shifter of course it feels diffrent..

The same pivot point is there though..

Its hard to understand when you dont know about it..Like I said before Im gonan try to find out the website that has the info..and diagram on it..

Aslo Sonix wtf does IMO mean?

IMO- in my opinion...... how many times are you people going to go back and forth saying the same thing? I feel like Im watching a group of old people argue back and forth. facts: we know he didnt shorten the shift, he shortened the handle, fact: he SAID HE WASNT SURE IF HE MADE A SHORT THROW SHIFTER OR NOT, fact: a short throw shifter reduces the throw of a shift, once you drive a car with a short throw shifter that you drove without one, you will know the difference. fact: we all know the above facts, so we can stop throwing the same thing back and forth, no need to find your article. And who the **** cares what his signature says anyhow, let the guy do what he wants to his car, at least he had the ambition to do something without asking 14653 questions on the internet about it first. I would however hide those RCA, power cables, and whatever else you have running along side your center console next time your bored.

Yeah, I forgot that the gangsta lean is the preferred driving style for taking curves...

sleeperRX7 09-01-2002 03:50 AM

no no no its more than that, lol :bigok:

SoniX 09-01-2002 06:22 AM

yeah, I just noticed the wires, you know that running the power and RCA cables together like that is likely to cause some interference, most wiring kits, and almost all (good) stereo shops will run the power cable on the opposite side of the car from the rca cables, I ran my power cables along the driver side moulding, and the rca and remote wires along the center, maybe you won't notice it, if you are not running much power, but you will most likely see an increase in sound quality by moving your power wire.
