I like the first shot, a Haynes manual in the passenger side door pocket. Never leave home without it.

I've measured it. 4" stock throw in my TII, a cut down shifter had a 4" throw in the same car. All you are doing with a cut shifter is increasing the effort it takes to shift, making you *think* you shortened the throw.

The pivot point is where the alteration is made from stock to shorten the throw..

I have seen this over and over where people cut the shifter and think they have a short shifter...

I need to find the article I read on a website about it..and post it here...

7. custom short throw shifter
Ok my car is far from stock...and that dont have **** to do with rice..

In your sig you posted you have a custom short throw shifter..

I explained to you why its not a short throw shifter..cause you said your not sure..and your still assuming it is..Yeah it does feel difrent ..you took out about 2-3 inches of your shifter..and no its not a short throw shifter..

The term short throw is made from the shortness in the pivot point and not the shifter stick it self..

You will soon understand whats rice and whats not..

That was your lesson number 1 ..

If you want a shifter Im tring to do a group buy on shifters for 84-88 trannys it will be $140 shipped to your door..BUT it will take about 2-3 weeks..on regular order...Its coming from overseas..

From Mazda Trix

The shorter throw of these Short Throw Shifters is accompolished by changing the pivot point of the lever. The distance the **** travels when shifting is shortened to 3 1/2" from the original 6".
