Contemplating DVD recorder purchase
Can anyone tell me if I buy a DVD recorder with a digital tuner can I receive cable channels above 100 without a cable box? I'm on Comcast here. Already get the "digital plus" package in the living room, but would like to also get digital channels in the bedroom without another box, if possible.

if u use a spliter it works. i belive the burner would do the same it has an input and output right?
Never heard of a burner with a tuner. And I shouldn't need a splitter. Cable goes to the DVD, and the DVD connects to the TV. If I have a digital tuner in the DVD, I know I can change channels with the DVD, with the TV set to channel 3.
My question is, can I tune digital cable channels over 100 with the tuner built in to the DVD recorder?
I have a friend who works for Comcast, and he tells me that while the lower channels are set to a national standard, the digital channels are actually addressable by the cable company, and they can move them around if they see fit. I'm guessing it won't work the way I was hoping it would.
