So a friend of mine, not so mechanically enclined, gives me a call after recently buying a 2nd gen
him: man, I was doing an oil change on the car and now itis smoking really bad!
me: like how bad?
him: bad man, white smoke everywhere!
me: so what did ya do, run me through it
him: pulled the plug, punched a hole in the top of the filter, you know just like you said, them this morning I pulled the filter and put a new one on, then dumped in the oil.. I statred it up and let it run a while an it just started smoking!
me: well that doesn't sound like anything unusual, other than the smoking part?
him: yeah I know, the other thing was some dumbass put red oil in this thing the last time they changed it!
me: um, that's tranny fluid you dumbass!
him: huh?
me: You emptied the transmission fluid out, then overfilled the engine with motor oil, that's why it's smoking like a bitch. Didn't you notice anything unusual when you were putting oil in it?
him: no, it was right at the top of the dipstick, just like you said
me: I said check the level at the top of the marks ON the dipstick, not fill it to the top of the dipstick!
him: oh, maybe i will hire this out the next time.
me: maybe you should just ride your bike

LMAO. reminds me of the old lady who filled her car's washer fluid by putting it in where the "watering can" symbol was.
the watering can symbol turned out to be the oil can symbol....she added washer fluid to her motor.
that was a fun job lol. "i keep putting washer fluid in the car and the light never goes off, and now its making a ticking noise"
kevin.
