I worked at an animal hospital for almost 11 years and you wouldn't believe how many new Dalmatians we saw because of that damn 101 Dalmatians movie. People buy dogs for the wrong reasons. The absolute BEST dogs I ever saw were always from the Humane Society and it only cost $40 to adopt one.
With the kind of technology we have available to us, who needs a "guard dog" any more?

store. I got my new puppy from a woman who lives in a huge house upstate,
its definitly no puppy mill or farm. The puppies stay in her kitchen at night and
arent locked up in some shed or barn.
You buy a purebred dog so you know what you are getting.
Purebred dogs act the same and grow up the same.
Example: if you have a apartment and want to make sure you
get a small dog that doesnt need alot of yard or excersise, or you
want a dog thats friendly with others. A elderly person would
want a dog that is more of a sit around type of dog.
I have several friends who have adopted dogs, some turn
out to be great pets, and some are ******* nuts and wreck the house
and get nasty out of nowhere.
While I would agree that there are many of wonderfull dogs
at shelters, some people just want a exact type of dog.
