Yesterday, my wife went and bought a chihuahua . Hell, I'd never pay $300 for a dog, unless that was money to save its life, not to purchase it. This dog is going to live with 2 large dogs and 2 cats . I'm hoping it won't get eaten.

it's not that I don't like them, it's just that I'm not sure I want a 5th animal to feed, and pay vet bills for. And I'm hoping that he doesn't get squashed by our Chessie, which is like this, except on the larger side:

 

I wouldn't worry too much about the cost to feed a Chihuahua. Vet bills are always a pain in the ***. Make sure you keep his teeth clean so he won't develop gum disease. Don't need to be exercised, but do need to go out about 4 times a day. Claws grow like crazy too.
