yeah nothing beats an AWD off the line unless its an idiot driving or its an auto......

The auto kind of killed it.
Takes those auto's forever to spool up... hahaha

If you can take out an SI civic 5 spd a b16a2 car you can take out a turbo Eclipse! Though watch out on a rolling race. He will be a bit quicker from a rolling start. So do it for real! From a stop till there is a sure winner! I do this.... lol often hit triple digit speeds....

I raced a first gen Eagle Talon AWD Turbo and he got me on the start..but when I climaxed first gear and then shift to second he was mine..I dunno how I bet him..I dont have any turbo..either he didnt know how to drive..or it really did suck..
Second one I raced..which was about 2 weeks ago..blew his engine (or at lease by the way it smoked) he had to pull off the road..it looked like a building was on fire...

Hmm....anyone know how hard it is to launch an AWD Lancer Evolution 4 with about 400 hp and does 11's with full interior? Bogs if the clutch is dropped at anything under 5500 RPM... You can only get a crazy launch if it's dropped at about 6500. My cousins car... never been in a faster car, probably won't until I'm done with my 1st Gen...

It's going to come down to the skill of the driver really. I'd loose as I can't launch, not a drag racer
As the other guys said, if it's an auto the RX-7 should beat em.

Ok, well...I think this forum has a better thought for GST eclipses then you should...THEY ARE SLOW. I'm not kidding..they run 15s normally stock, and have bad turbo lag. I raced one when I was still NA and BEAT it 60 to 100! His turbo lagged so bad, and he was 5spd. Honestly, even if both were 5spd the T2 would win. The eclipse doesn't launch as evenly and normally wabbles..(I've driven them, I know..) However, the '91 T2s are one of the heaviest rx7s...even FDs are lighter. It will be close, but the T2 hands down(w/ good driver, lol).

BTW, 1st gen eclipse turbos RULE! I'd take a TSI AWD talon though first...but in my opinion the DSMs are quick cars! A 1st gen DSM eclipse or talon would be a T2...
