you remove one trailing spark plug, connect the tester, disable the fuel pump, hold open the throttle, and crank away. Repeat for the other rotor.



you should call them back and ask how much they get to change the spark plugs- its the same thing.



I just checked compression on that vert I bought a few weeks ago, took me less then 10 minutes to do.

you could do the sound test, 3 even whooshes.



or you could buy a compression tester from straus for probably MAX $40 and just remove the shrader valve or hold the air release button while cranking the engine.

I've used mine a few times now and it works well. I realized that my readings with the dial or standard type compression tester were at least 10 psi off. I believe this is because I couldn't tighten the 14mm fitting into the trail spark plug holes very tightly. This digital tester converts readings for 250 RPM with the flick of a switch. It also data logs onto a laptop. The Mazda one can't do either.
