I was out all last night for the street races and met up with some rotarys guys I know..and met some new RX7 people I didnt know..
Well this one guy that was with us had a WRX..and he was talking about how his friend just bought the last RX7 made off the assembly line it was numbered 8000 or 800 ..he said its a right hand driven RX...
Do you think the story is abunch of bullshit? And does anyone here knwo if the last RX7 was numbered this?He said the car will be in the states soon..I got to see this..

Well, don't consider this conclusive, but the last FDs in Japan were the Spirit R limited editions, of which there were 1500 (?) made. That being said, the number 8000 or 800 seems unlikely if he's referring to the limited edition numbering.

Any car thats brought over has to go through everything from crash tests to even, yes, emmissions. The regulations in Japan arn't even close to here. Motor-rex specializes in importing cars like the Skyline, but before they did it, they had to buy about 10 of them just for crash tests.

Spirit R information
Type R Bathurst R information
It sounds as if he's trying to front like he has one of either of those. The fact of the matter is, there is no way he could legally register one of those in the states, even if he could afford to bring one over in the first place.
