Building a shop
#1
So I got this property out in the country.. Me and my brother are wanting to build a shop on the land, so we've been talking to contractors and such. Wondering if anyone has any tips or recommendations? I've been looking pretty closely at those assemble-yourself steel buildings, but it seems like the quotes for the pre-fabbed parts (unless you're a contractor) is the same price as hiring a ******* contractor to get the supplies and build it! Am I wrong?
Looking to do a minimum of 32 x 40 foot..
Anyone have ANY recommendations? Style of door (s) ? Wall height? Easy way to cut costs? Recommended suppliers?

incase you want to put a rack or two in the shop in the future i would lay atleast 6" slab of concreet or just the 6" in the area where the lifts will be and 4" the rest of the floor. ya plenty of light, like over kill on lights. an outlet almost everywhere as all of us know how much of a pain in the *** it is to walk around extention coreds all the time. white walls are nice or a light light grey color. have a few 220 oulets as well. definetly run 30 amp beakers as 20s and 15s dont cut it when your welding and grinding and what not. anyways there are amilion things you can do but these are things that are easy enuff to do while you build the place and more of a pain when the building is done.
